View from the Sealife Tower on Weymouth Pleasure Pier (in Image) showing the rear of the "Pavilion" theatre with the currently disused ferry terminal on the left. The Wey forms the harbour with, on the opposite bank, Nothe Parade with Weymouth Sailing Club moorings and the lifeboat station. The tents and vans in the centre are part of the infrastructure and attractions for the Olympics on what were car parking areas both for visitors to the town and ferry passengers. (Quite convenient the ferry had to run from Poole.) On the right, the helter skelter is another new addition. On the extreme right the blue plastic screens erected along the Esplanade by the beach are provided to restrict the view of the Olympics from other than designated areas. The temporary structures immediately in front of the Pavilion have batteries of TV cameras on top of them.
