The Church of the Ascension at Woolston was consecrated by The Bishop of Liverpool on Ascension Day (May 7th) 1970. It is a modern building which departs from the traditional ideas of church architecture, being square in shape, with the altar situated in one corner. The church is sited on the triangle of land defined by Dam Lane/Warren Lane/Hillock Lane.
