This is right on the edge of Newmarket racecourse on Barbara Stradbroke Avenue. The Earl of Stradbroke was created in 1821 for John Rous, 1st Baron Rous, and named after the earldom. More can be read here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Earl_of_Stradbroke
