Both are cast iron, the left one described as a drinking fountain. The right-hand one is an elegant baluster hand pump [swollen at the base, rising to a neck], with the plaque stating that it was 'The gift of Alexander McLeod Esq., Halifax, N.S., to the inhabitants of Blackness, his native village. 1875'
