This view of Carlyon bay is looking East with the rocks which form Crinnis Island in the foreground. On the horizon, across St Austell Bay, is the peninsula which terminates in Gribbin Head. On the extreme left of the picture is the derelict nightclub, (The Coliseum), which is currently the subject of dispute between the owners of the beach and the local residents as to whether it should be made into a commercial holiday complex.
