Education cutbacks and a small intake a few years ago closed the secondary school. Pupils now need to travel to Lancaster for their post-11 education. Hornby High School was bought by The Brethren, renamed Hornby Park School, and reopened as a Christian school in 2011. They are also connected to the new Carnforth Business Park http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/2890617 with its gospel hall yet to be built (information kindly supplied by Ian Taylor).
