Rotating trickling filter system. The sewage is trickled over clinker, which gives a large surface area for bacteria to break down organic matter in the water. A circular rotating system gives an even time between addition of water so is preferable over square tanks with a boom going to and fro. See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sewage_treatment
