There is a "members only" Caravan site next to the tree. Amazingly on New Year's Eve there was a Caravan there. The Occupant noticed me photographing and commented that it is "an amazing tree" - it is indeed an impressive tree and the most interesting thing I had photographed all morning... but I don't think I would have stopped to take a photo of it if I hadn't been geographing !
