Looking towards the junction from the end of the A71 (Gorgie Road). The main road into Edinburgh City Centre via the Haymarket bears slightly left as the A70 (Dalry Road). The road to the right is also the A70 to Lanark, often colloquially known as the Lang Whang Road. The road up the slight hill is Henderson Terrace and is the start of a convenient route to avoid the main part of Edinburgh City Centre. It eventually leads to among many others Holyrood Park. A local road also branches off sharp left.
