Part of what remains of a medieval hall now known as "The Old Rectory Museum" off Rectory Place, premises that are owned by the Borough Council. The ground floor of this 14th century structure is thought to have been the kitchen of the original Parish Church rectory and the first floor, the cleric's accommodation. Later on an immense two- storey rectory was built on the now-grassed area to the left of the ruined section. However, this newer Victorian extension was demolished in 1962, it being considered too impractical and expensive for the adjacent All-Saints-with-Holy-Trinity Church to maintain. The less than aesthetically pleasing maisonettes in the distance are situated on Rectory Road.
