On the second morning of the County Championship match Nottinghamshire's Adam Voges was beaten outside the off stump by the Middlesex seamer Tim Murtagh - the ball impressing England captain Andrew Strauss (open-mouthed at first slip). Voges had the better of things, though, scoring 105 of Notts' 329, a first-innings lead of 231. The non-striker, with his back to the camera, is Michael Lumb, who scored 50 (as Strauss had done on the previous day). The sightscreen and trees in the background are at the Gatting Way End. After a sunny morning, rain ended play at tea.
