A colourful and rather grand metallic sign in the market area. This is a view across Northumberland Street looking further along Byram Street towards the St Peter's Parish Church and Kirkgate. The photographer is standing with his back to the other end of Byram Street where the Open Market is situated. The Post Office is visible through the framed archway.
