A corner of the colourful former wholesale market with Lord Street disappearing into the distance at the side of it. It was designed by Richard Dugdale, the first full-time Borough Surveyor and constructed in 1887-88. Renovated in 1980, it is now a retail market. This picture was taken from the top of a flight of stairs leading up to a Tesco supermarket behind the photographer.
