The Velodrome became famous as the site of the cycling contests at the 1948 Olympics. Although its outdoor track was not suitable for the 2012 Olympics (for which a new velodrome was built Image ), it has been refurbished and brought back into regular use since the earlier photo of the track on this site Image However, the site management do not permit photography other than for personal use, so I was not given permission to upload photos of the track itself to Geograph.
