Evidence of the fact that the Grade-II listed Silver Arcade on High Street is currently being up-graded. It was designed by Amos Hall in 1889 and although unique, being the only one of its kind in Leicester, it was closed in 2000. Its owners, Lukegate Ltd, are planning to introduce several dramatic features prior to its reopening shortly, including two new glass lifts and a spiral staircase.
