The Geograph project started in 2005 with the aim of publishing, organising and preserving representative images for every square kilometre of Great Britain, Ireland and the Isle of Man.

This area had lain derelict for well over a year after a fire had destroyed a public house and adjoining shop. The grassing over of the site and the painting of the neighbouring buildings has made a great difference to the look of the area.
