Viewed from Church Road. Trewern was built in 1904 as a family residence. In 1967, Trewern was opened as an outdoor pursuits centre for the schools of Barking and is now an educational facility for the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham. Outdoor activity and field study courses are available to the borough's primary and secondary schools, and also to other groups or individuals, throughout the year.
