The woman pictured waiting at the bus stop next to this property informed me that "it used to be a forge". However, the overall size and shape of it and its gothic-style arched windows make me think that it might actually have been a chapel or a school building. It is dated "1863", the year that the Winstanley family of Braunstone Park donated money for a school in the village. This is a picture of Main Road looking towards Braunstone Road.
