Long range view from Bredon Hill (just slightly south of the tower). The satcom research setup is on the site of Defford Airfield. Later, as part of the Royal Radar Establishment an interferometer was built (two movable microwave dishes on railway tracks on the runways) to create a wide baseline radio telescope.
