Buses on Station Approach

Station Approach is the nearest thing Solihull has to a bus station (if memory serves it has been described as an "interchange" in recent times due to its proximity to the railway station). In addition to several bus stops, there is a long lay by in which buses with long layovers can wait. As this picture shows, it is used by a great many buses, most of which end up in Birmingham city centre via various routes. Indeed, that is the destination of all four buses facing the camera: the one in the foreground will reach the city via Lyndon and Coventry Road, the one waiting to be allowed into the lay by via Yardley Wood, and the remainder via Stratford Road. The entrance to the railway station is just out of frame to the left, adjacent to the zebra crossing.
