A footpath leading towards Station Street runs alongside this sandstone-brick building bearing the inscription "Nottingham Constabulary 1873". Directly ahead, on the opposite side of Station Street, the single storey garage is attached to The Railway Inn, whereas at the other side of this former police station is the current entrance to the railway station and the entrances into various retail units.
