Set back 30 metres from the south side of Newgate Street (B4601). The Brecon & Radnor Press reported in April 2011 that Stoneleigh Manor, a former prison governor's mansion built in the early 19th century, later a short-stay hostel for the homeless, had been given a £500,000 makeover. Powys County Council closed the hostel in 2008 because the building was badly in need of renovation. The building was renovated by Wales & West Housing Association, which bought it in 2010.
