The stream is the one which flows through the village of Rockbourne, close to the roadway. It is known as Sweatford's Water, and has the reputation of being a 'winterbourne'. Nonetheless, it was still flowing in the third week of June, when this photo was taken. See also Stuart Logan's contribution http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/2972569 which shows that it was flowing at the end of May. The spring and early summer of 2012 - it has to be said - saw rainfall far heavier than the seasonal average .
