When the bypass road for Cirencester the A419 was built , the new dual carriageway carved straight through the old junction of the London Rd and the Fosse Way, the A429. The A429 was diverted so that it missed Cirencester and the old Fosse Way was rerouted south easton a new minor road (in the foreground here) along side the new A419 until it meets the London road at this junction. The Fosse Way continues south from its original junction a few hundred metres west of this point.
