The site of the former Strangford RUC station

The station built on this site during "The Troubles" replaced that on the other side of the road. By that time Strangford was a two man station and its patch extended south to Kilclief and west to Raholp. Before "The Troubles" Strangford was regarded as an idyllic posting. Today, the village and surrounding rural area are policed by the PSNI Neighbourhood Team stationed as Irish Street, Downpatrick. Image
