Viewed across the A48 from the footpath and cycleway on the Margam-bound side. The cones are in place to block off one lane of this carriageway because the footpath is closed ahead. http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/2992632 The blue motorway section of the sign alongside the other carriageway shows that there is only one motorway entrance slip road at junction 38, for traffic for Bridgend and Cardiff. Drivers wishing to travel on the M4 in the opposite direction need to enter the motorway at junction 39, http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/2954313 about a kilometre behind the camera.
