Michell's whim - East Pool

This is the National Trust's preserved rotative Cornish beam winding engine (whim) at East Pool. built in 1887 by Holman Bros of Camborne and at work until 1921 when an underground collapse closed the mine. The engine can be turned by an electric motor. The reconstructed boiler house is a more recent addition as the original had been lost following closure.
