This is a preserved tin streaming works that recovered tin ore (cassiterite) from low grade sources and forwarded it to be smelted and turned into pure metallic tin. This motley collection of wood framed buildings with corrugated cladding is typical of this type of structure and is a special survivor with original equipment including water powered stamps, a rotating table round frame and shaking tables. On the right hand side is an electrically powered dipper wheel that lifted liquid from a lower level to a higher level, much like one of the devices used in antiquity - a noria.
