Leaving Fletcher Gate behind and having passed through a small yard and down a flight of steps pedestrians find themselves in this arcade, now known as Bridlesmith Walk, that exits into Bridlesmith Gate. Until December 2006 this arcade was called King John's Chambers after a tavern named King John's Palace. Nottingham City Council however, decided to give it this new name, it having no connection with King John.
