The white building at 25 Lion Street, formerly a military drill hall, is the box office for the annual Hay Festival, which this year (2012) took place between May 31st and June 10th. A dark green banner on the wall advertises the festival. A faded sign on the left points west along the B4348 towards Brecon, 16 miles away.
