Dead oak tree at Pachesham Equestrian Centre

For a moment I was uncertain of the identity of this woe-begone old tree. The overall shape suggested oak, but the tree was minus much of its bark and all its end-growth. Only once I'd had a good look at its neighbours was I left in no doubt - it was indeed an oak.
