Because his reign only lasted 9 months, not many postboxes were manufactured bearing King Edward VIII's cipher. Only around 150 are in use today, and this is one such box, in Bridlington town centre. See Image for a close-up of the cipher. It is emptied finally at quarter to six on weekday evenings and at half past eleven on Saturday mornings.
