A former building belonging to the Dean and Chapter of Salisbury is now home to a military museum. Originally the Royal Berkshire Regiment had a museum in Reading and the Wiltshire Regiment had its in Devizes. The two merged in 1959 and a move to bring the museums together eventually happened in Salisbury. Following several merges the museum here is now known as The Rifles (Berkshire and Wiltshire) Museum.
