An exemplary array of tactile paving at the corner of Chapel Lane (ahead) and Waterside. It accompanies a speed table at the junction. Tactile paving (that is, can be felt through footwear) is designed to help visually-impaired people negotiate obstacles and road crossings. Waterside and its continuation, Southern Lane, are heavily-trafficked pedestrian routes in visitors' Stratford.
