This shows the stack of Wet Process kilns 1-4, long since demolished, in 1976. From the initial installation of kiln 1 in 1929, the plant gradually extended northward with successive kilns (except No 4!). The taller stack of kilns 5 & 6 can be seen to the right (situated at SK9861905616). The top of the preheater tower of the Dry Process kiln 7, then under construction, can be seen over the top of the cement silos.
