This Grade II listed gatehouse once guarded the entrance to one of Sheffield's finest Victorian mansions - Riverdale. Built for steel magnate Charles Henry Firth it was later acquired by the mail order millionaire and philanthropist J.G.Graves. Perhaps sadly, the fine house's extensive grounds were sold off for housing in the nineteen sixties.
