This fine public house and hotel is by the Gloucester and Sharpness Canal. It serves good quality meals and the real ale is very well kept too. Its on-line reviews are very encouraging! Recommended. The building dates from the 18th century, and was a licensed beer and cider house for the Irish navigator soldiers who dug the canal by hand.
