When livestock are away from the steading a good handling system is an great investment to avoid injury to man and beast. Following the BSE crisis a system of individual numbering of all sheep and cattle with ear tags was introduced. If a tag is lost it has to be replaced, a cattle crush like this is ideal to deal with any cattle but especially those that are not handled very often such as suckler cows and calves. http://www.defra.gov.uk/food-farm/animals/movements/ Image]
