There is an Ordnance Survey flush bracket benchmark Image at the base of the right hand end of the hotel. The bracket with serial number 977 was levelled at 110.363m above Newlyn Datum in 1952 and verified in 1962 when the Ordnance Survey (incorrectly) gave the street address of the hotel as South Street
