Built on the location of a monk’s hospice dating from the early eleventh century in the New Forest, the Cat & Fiddle pub/restaurant is a famous landmark on the A35 road to Christchurch and Bournemouth. During the 18th & 19th Centuries the pub was a haunt for smugglers who were operating from nearby Christchurch Bay.
