I'm fairly sure the rectangle of fencing on the right is protecting some youthful trees. Molehills are in evidence nearby. The flood plain takes a distinct shift downwards here - evidence of a minor knickpoint perhaps. This is on the Nidderdale Way following footpath 15 29/77/2.
