This recent memorial is to the many in the local vicinity that worked at the now defunct Randolph Colliery and Coke Ovens. Illustrated are a Miner's Safety Lamp, a coal gas flame, and the coke nodules that were a residual fuel item after the gas and tar products had been extracted from the mined coal.
