Following the contract signing to appoint Skanska Construction UK on 26 November 2010, construction work for the Civic Centre started on site on 30 November 2010. The building is due to be complete in 109 weeks, and is currently on schedule to be open and fully operational by June 2013.http://www.brent.gov.uk/brentciviccentre.nsf/Pages/LBB-10
