Located near the Showcase Cinemas http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/2958126 in Castlegate Way. The memorial was erected in 2002 for James Whale (1889-1957), an English film director who was born in Dudley. Among his best-known films today are Frankenstein (1931), The Invisible Man (1933) and Bride of Frankenstein (1935).
