Stang Hill, Winster Valley

The 'hill' is merely an upstanding rocky knoll that rises a few metres above the flat, damp valley floor. They are quite common in the vicinity and are outcrops of Silurian slate that are slightly harder than the surroundings and so withstood the effects of the last glaciation.
