This shows the pitwheel, wallower, great spur wheel and two stone nuts. The great spur wheel has wooden teeth so that something can give if there is a jam. The stone nuts have been 'jacked' out of engagement. The bevel gear bottom right drives the third set of stones via a layshaft. This mill is an example of National Mills weekend at its best and is a delight to visit.
