One of the best mills in Shropshire and in working order. The present mill building dates from the 18th century with 19th century additions and machinery. This is the stone floor. The two sets on the left (one unclothed) flank the mainshaft and are driven by a great spur wheel. The one on the right is driven by an auxiliary layshaft drive. The crown wheel is just visible behind the stairs and drove a sawmill (gone) to the left and the sack hoist to the right. The sackh hoist drive pulley and belt are also by the stairs. The mill stone in the centre has stone dressing tools arrayed on top of it. There is a sack attached to the sack hoist chain on the extreme left.
