Inside Crowards Mill

Opening a large cupboard within the 1970s house conversion reveals the preserved milling equipment. The mill stones are directly above in a room on the first floor. Formally known as Crowfords Mill dating from the 14th century its origins may lie in the 13th century. In the 18th and 19th century the mill was owned by the family of Lord Bateman of Shobdon Court. The mill operated as a corn mill until 1948 and up to 1974 pumped water to Eyton Old Hall. Ref www.herefordshire.gov.uk/htt/586.aspx
