Lichfield City is the penultimate station at the northern end of the Cross-City Line which runs from Redditch in the south to Lichfield Trent Valley via Birmingham New Street. The station was opened in 1849 and the present buildings date from 1882. Until 1965 it was also served by a service linking Burton-on-Trent with Walsall.
