View westward and towards Tuffley Junction, Bristol etc. curving to the left. Eastgate station still had 10 or so years' existence, but a sign of the take-over by the WR is provided by this Churchward-design '4500' class 2-6-2T, No. 4564 (built 10/24, withdrawn 9/64), working on the ex-Midland line. Behind it is Gloucester Passenger Station Box, the ex-Midland yards and the long footbridge connecting the two Gloucester Stations.
